Chamber of Commerce Community

Who wouldn’t want to spend time in the Vernal Area? Close to a million people visit Uintah County each year to recreate! Visitors come to experience Dinosaur National Monument, our 3 State Parks (Red Fleet, Steinaker, and the Field House Museum) fish, camp, hunt, bike, hike, raft, and explore all the beauty and wonder that is Uintah County.

There are also many community events like Vernal Excitement, Paddlefest, Summer Day Trips, Outlaw Trail Theater productions, PRCA Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo, Freedom Fest, John Wesley Powell River Festival, Dinah "SOAR" Days Balloon Festival, Uintah Basin Energy Summit, Outlaw Trail ATV Jamboree, Holly Days, Dinosaurland Passport to Summer and many others.

Gilsonite, Phosphate, oil, and natural gas are abundant in the area, providing good jobs and supporting the local economy. The area is home to numerous locally-owned businesses and large retail stores including Wal-Mart, T.J. Maxx, and Lowes. There is also a large variety of dining establishments and hotels throughout the area. The local government is continually looking for ways to build and improve the economic infrastructure.
