Conservation Issues Committee

What is the mission of the Conservation Issues Committee?

The mission of this committee is to investigate, inform, and make recommendations to the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors concerning environmental affairs. In addition, the committee will conceive and initiate conservation-oriented community projects to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors. In recent years there has been an increased emphasis on providing information to the public and act as a communication hub, connecting various groups working on environmental issues in our community. This is accomplished by recruiting members and/or inviting speakers from a variety of agencies and organizations (e.g., Tri-County Health, Utah State Parks, Trails Committee, Birds & Butterflies Committee, BLM/USFS/NPS, local business owners, etc.); as well as writing news articles; having a booth at the Home & Garden Show where fact sheets are provided and questions are answered; meeting with local government officials; and working directly with other groups who have complementary goals.
