Ted Munford was born in Henderson, Nevada and moved to Vernal when he was five (5) months old and has lived here ever since.
He graduated from Uintah High School in 1995, received a BSDi Certified from Berkley Software Design in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2000, Satellite Communication Certified through Direcway Communications, Rockland, Idaho 2002, and has an Associate Degree from Utah State University, Uintah Basin completed in 2008.
In 2006 he started his own successful business, which the name was derived from blending the first names of the company owners Ted and Christie Munford. Techris Design began as a home based web Design Company and was operated from the basement. At the end of the first year it had grown to include computer repair services and moved to South Vernal Avenue. In 2010, Techris Design moved into its own building located at 110 West Main Street and now includes computer sales, networking, data basing, business IT support and hardware sales.
Continually involved in the community, Ted has served on the Vernal City Council since 2010, is a member of the Dinah-Mites and the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce. He is active and serving in his Church organization and assignments.
He has served on several boards including City Administrations, Animal Control, Fire District, Public Safety (police), Public Works, Youth City Council and the Health District. Community involvement also includes Holly Days, Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo, County Fair, Halloween Mayors Walk, multiple seasonal trade shows, as well as sponsoring several local sport teams, groups and events.
Ted and his wife Christie have been married 19 years and have 10 children, 7 boys and 3 girls.
The Public Relations/Community Development Committee of the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce presented the Quarterly Outstanding Public Service Award to Ted Munford for his many and varied continuing contributions to our community.
