
Mark Raymond is currently a Uintah County Commissioner and enjoys serving his community. He serves on a number of boards including the Uintah Transportation SSD, Tri-County Health Board, Uintah Health SSD, National Association of Counties Energy, Environment and Land Use Board. He served for six years on the Uintah Recreation SSD Board. He served as the Associate Director for USTAR, Utah Science, Technology and Research for the Eastern Region of the state. Mark is retired from Deseret Generation and Transmission where he was employed as the Human Resource Manager, an Electrical and Controls Technician and Lab Technician. He also served for several years as the Instructor for the Electrical Apprenticeship program taught through the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College.
Besides his responsibilities as a commissioner, Mark has been very active his community serving in various capacities including: Ashley Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees, Uintah Impact Mitigation SSD Board member and Vice Chair, Uintah County Planning and Zoning Board member, Department of Workforce Services Board member and past State Council member. He has also served as a member of the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College, Business Department Advisory Board. He has also been a member of the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce, Oil and Gas Committee, Education Committee, and served on the Uintah County Sheriff’s Advisory Board. He loves the people of Uintah County and his motto is, “Just Get It Done!”
Mark graduated from the University of Utah with two Bachelor of Science Degrees – one Psychology and one in Sociology. He and his wife Mary Ann live up Dry Fork on the McConkie Ranch where all the wonderful petroglyphs are. They have 4 children and 11 grandchildren.
