Sidney Smith was born and raised in Provo and for the past 5 years has called Vernal "home." He and his wife Lori moved their young family from Lake Powell to Vernal when Sidney was hired as general manager of the Holiday Inn Express. While living in Lake Powell Sidney served as director of lodging and restaurants.
He received his associate degree in Business Management from BYU Idaho, and went on to obtain his bachelor degree in Hospitality Management from Utah Valley University. His heart has always been in hospitality and working with people.
Sidney enjoys volunteering his time to others and the community. He is the administrator for Utah Adaptive Runners, current South Western Director of Community Outreach and an Ambassador for Amputee Blade Runners in Nashville Tennessee. He is the Department Head for Disability Hunts and Social Media for “Extreme Hunter”. He is a Member of the Business Advisory Committee and co-instructor for Human Resource Essentials course for Uintah Basin Applied Technology College. Active member of the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce, Sid is Committee Chair for Vernal Hospitality Committee, member of the “Trees for Charity” committee, and a member of the Dinah-Mites. He was just recently elected a member of the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce.
Sidney and Lori have three (3) children and one (1) on the way and he loves spending time with them. Sidney is a para-triathlete and is training for the Ironman distance. His passion is hunting and he enjoys fishing.
