Michael Fausett works for Anadarko Petroleum and is currently President of the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife Amanda and 3 children reside in Roosevelt where he was raised along with his 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
He says his Mother taught him to work hard and serve other. She would keep her children busy helping elderly neighbors with yardwork and other acts of service.
Mike is an Eagle Scout and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Honduras and Belize.
He replaced Jeff Duncan on the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce and was a little hesitant since it was the first time serving on a board for a civic organization. He has been excited to serve as Vice President and now President of the Chamber.
Mike loves the lifestyle of small communities and thinks Vernal is the best kept secret. He believes communities need to be diverse and an inviting place for people to live.
He is involved in the Anadarko Civic Service Committee who financially supports and provides volunteers for Special Olympics, UBIC, Trees for Charity, Boy Scouts of America, Uintah Basin Orchestra and Chorus, Youth Sports teams, Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo, Lane Frost Rodeo and others.
The Public Relations Committee of the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce is please to present the Quarterly Outstanding Public Service Award to Mike Fausett and thank him for his continuing service to our area. We will miss him when he and his family transfer to Casper, Wyoming this summer.
