North Eastern Services began in 1981 with the start of a group home in Roosevelt. In 1982 the company expanded into Cache Valley and Utah County, and by 1983 it had incorporated and was serving 24 people throughout Utah. NES's determination to provide outstanding care led to many awards during the 35 years of services including receiving the state's highest award for excellence, the Ila Marie Goody award, in 1995. NES continues to grow and currently has nine different locations throughout Utah and employs nearly 700 people.

The company is built around the individuals they serve. Programs are specifically created to help individuals work toward becoming better people and having a better life. NES offers various program to support the needs of individuals including residential, day programs, transportation, behavior support, supported living and host homes/professional parent. They work closely with Division of Services for People with Disabilities, Department of Child and Family Services and Vocational Rehabilitation.
With the capable management of Ercel Johnson, Vernal NES sets the standard for the human services industry by providing excellent care, absolute execution of all requirements and unmatched integrity. Their employees and volunteers help people with disabilities from youth to seniors in their day to day activities as well as swimming, bowling, camping, competing in Special Olympics, and enjoy field trips to the State Fair, Rockies Games, and visits to the Zoo and Aquarium.
With a local staff of 65 employees and volunteers, and approximately 50 clients, NES is accomplishing their goal of helping people with disabilities live rich, rewarding lives.
NES is looking for businesses who are willing to offer a tour of what they do, and are always looking for people who would like to volunteer their time.
