The Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce is a major sponsor of the Annual Vernal Community Holly Days Festival.  In addition to sponsorship, the Chamber is deeply involved in directing two of the events and many chamber members provide staffing and volunteer assistance for several of the events.  Once again, the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Parade of Lights.  The Parade of Lights is one of the highlights of the Festival.  Floats garnished with lights and tinsel make their way through the crowds on mainstreet.  The floats will be judged by a panel of three judges who will award a 1st place prize of $300, a 2nd place prize of $200, and a 3rd place prize of $100.  Entry forms  can be located on the Holly Days Website by gong to the list of activities and clicking on the parade of lights apllication under the Parade of Lights Event information.  Click on the Holly Days link at the end of this article for additional information. 

The second event that the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting is the Variety Show located at the Utah Field House Museum.  The event begins at 2:00 pm with the Uintah High School Jazz band Thrilling the Audience with fast paced toe tapping music.  At 2:30 pm the Shelly Raine Project will perform original songs composed by local artists.  At 3:15 pm Christmas Carolers will perform.  At 3:40 the Piner Academy of Dance will perform.  At 4:00 Leo Karren's Bluegrass Band will entertain us with some good ole fashion music.  It will be a wonderful event that you won't want to miss.  Come join us and warm up while you listen to local artists.

The event information booth will be located at 100 East Main Street near the helicopter and in conjunction with the prize booth. Here you can pick up event maps, activity lists and general information.  There are at least 47 different events scheduled to see and do during this years celebration.  You may want to take some time and look over the Holly Days Website and plan out your day so that you can maximize your fun.   

Food will be available for purchase at the Holly Days Food Court and Downtown Restaurants.

The Holly Trolley will provide free transportation to various event locations from 1;00 pm to 8:15 pm.
